As an individual value investor for more than 30 plus years, some of my best investments have been in good investment books and i would rank Building Wealth Through REITs as one of the good investment books to read and add to one's library. The author's objective is humble and admirable - to deepen investors understanding and become more knowledgeable of REITs. Booby Jayaraman has a solid grasp of the REITs biz and he is able to explain it in an easy to read and digest sort of style yet have the breath and depth in helping the investor to understand and evaluate the different types of REITs. Examples are instructive and investors attention are drawn to salient points......important not to confuse, .....the bottomline,.......important to recognize. The last section of the book - Interviews with Singapore-REITs CEOs is most insightful. Just an interesting snippet from the interview with CEO of CapitaComm, Lynette Leong....."By the way, an easy way to check the quality of the property is to check the car park. If that is well maintained, so will the rest of the building." Reading the book, coupled with homework - will definitely help investors make fewer mistakes, better informed REITs investment decisions, profit from capital appreciation and build a sustainable stream of income through this asset class
